Bio
Kingston Benjamin's career as an internal auditor at the Seventh Day-Adventist Southern Asia office provided a platform for him to move to the United States in 1985, which began a 25-year career within some of the world’s largest satellite organizations.
Benjamin currently serves as an associate at Booz Allen Hamilton, a leading consulting firm celebrating a more than 100-year-old history of providing strategy, technology, and engineering expertise to clients across the globe. In this role, Benjamin is responsible for providing program management support to the U.S. Department of Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) in Seaside, California. His work supports strategic initiatives and growth opportunities within highly visible programs, develops client relationships, and analyzes and leverages past program performance.
Prior to Booz Allen Hamilton, Benjamin served as a senior project manager at Digital Management, Inc. where he supported the U.S. Department of Defense’s Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) in Fort Meade, Maryland. He went on to serve the DOD’s Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) where he was responsible for managing several complex technical projects. Due to client satisfaction, his team was given the esteemed Digital Hi-5 Award at the 2015 Annual Awards ceremony in Washington, D.C.
Benjamin also served as the director of Infrastructure Procurement at Intelsat, the world’s largest satellite telecommunications organization, headquartered in Luxembourg. Here he was responsible for supporting the Space Acquisition and Procurement Team’s CONUS and OCONUS projects, and for developing strategies for Intelsat’s European vendors and services providers. Benjamin also worked as a senior program manager at Intelsat General Corporation, the government wing of Intelsat. He contributed to his team being recognized for developing an “out-of-the-box” tool to track Intelsat General Corporation and Government Furnished Assets (GFE) within Microsoft SharePoint. The tool, known as Fixed Asset Management Tool (FAMT), functioned at zero dollar cost to the company. FAMT was extremely well received and later adopted by several other teams within Intelsat General Corporation.
Benjamin earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Management as well as a Masters Diploma in Management from Spicer Memorial College in Pune, India. He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems from Columbia Union College in Takoma Park, Washington.
Experience at MIT Sloan Executive Education
Benjamin continues to be inspired by pursuing education and innovation in his career. He has completed two Executive Certificates at MIT Sloan Executive Education: Technology, Operations, and Value Chain Management, completed in 2009; and Strategy and Innovation, completed in 2010.
The opportunity to attend courses and hear many of MIT’s greatest minds at work has been a life-long dream come true for Benjamin. While his schooling and work ethic gained beginning at the Seventh Day-Adventist Southern Asia Division India provided the foundation for professional opportunities around the world, MIT Sloan Executive Education’s programs have enhanced resume recognition and trust from colleagues at each of his companies. The programs have helped him gain invaluable expertise in innovation from a network of global colleagues. While Benjamin's 3 Daughters and Son-In-Law each pursue their Medical Degree programs, Benjamin’s thirst for knowledge will take him back to MIT Sloan Executive Education to complete a third Executive Certificate—Management and Leadership—scheduled in March 2016. Benjamin acknowledges Anita his genius wife for tremendous support as friend and solid partnership in life.
