Admissions Policy
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology admits students of any race, color, sex, religion, or national or ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, courses, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the Institute. It does not discriminate against individuals on the basis of race, color, sex, sexual orientation, religion, disability, age, or national or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, employment policies, scholarship and loan courses, and other Institute administered courses and activities, but may favor U.S. citizens or residents in admissions and financial aid.
Code of Conduct
MIT values engagement, inclusivity, and collaboration for its diverse community of faculty, staff, and participants. As a participant of an MIT Sloan Executive Education course, you are a member of the MIT Community and are expected to adhere to the following principles. Read more.
Course Attendance and Completion Policy
Participants must attend the entire course in order to receive the course certificate of completion and any credit towards an Executive or ACE Certificate. There will be no partial credit granted for any course that is not fully completed. If you will not be able to attend the entire course, we advise you to register for another session.
If you register for a Sprint course, you will have 30 days in which to complete the course. If not completed within 30 days from your registration date, access to the course will be revoked.
There are no academic credits granted for participation in executive courses. Tuition rates listed in the course description reflect the total cost of participation in the course. Accommodations are not included in all courses; see the individual course descriptions for complete details. Enrollment is confirmed only upon receipt of payment.

For all transfer requests, any balance remaining after fees will be applied toward your tuition in the new offering or new course.
- If you have paid in full and are transferring to a different offering of the same course, your payment will be applied to the tuition in the new offering, and you will not be charged any increase in tuition.
- If you have not paid in full or are transferring to a different course, you will be billed for the remaining/outstanding tuition for the new course or new offering. Please note that there may be an increase in tuition.
If you choose to transfer your enrollment, you must attend the new course or offering or you will forfeit all funds previously paid. Only one transfer or substitution per enrollment is allowed, and the new offering must occur within one year of the original course date. Changes to your course enrollments may affect any previously applied discounts (e.g. the multiple course registration discount), and may result in an increase in individual course tuition. There is no cancellation allowed on transferred enrollments.
Certain courses require a non-refundable deposit upon acceptance to secure enrollment; this is indicated in the email sent confirming your enrollment in the course. Should you be unable to attend the course, the deposit is not eligible for refund, regardless of cancellation/transfer date or reason.
Substitution Policy
To send a substitute in your place, please log in to your account and select Change an Enrollment. Once you have entered the substitutes details they will be notified by email and have 48 hours in which to confirm the change. Please note that some courses require course director approval of all candidates. In these cases, the proposed substitute will need to complete an online application. Once the application has been approved, the substitution will be processed.
Discount Policy
Please note that you may take advantage of only one discount or special offer per course (e.g., group pricing, MIT alumni discount, etc.). Discounts cannot be combined. Visit the FAQ page to see a list of available discounts.
Visa Letter Policy
MIT will issue a visa invitation letter only after course acceptance and upon receipt of payment in full. $1,000 of your course payment will be considered a non-refundable deposit. Should you be unable to attend the course, the $1,000 deposit is not eligible for refund, regardless of cancellation/deferral date or reason. If you cancel or defer your course enrollment more than 42 days before the course start date, you may apply the $1,000 deposit toward another course enrollment within one year of the original course start date. It is the responsibility of the participant to ensure they have a valid visa before attending. Within 44 days of the course start date, the standard cancellation and deferral fees also apply.
