Code of Conduct

Code of Conduct

MIT values engagement, inclusivity, and collaboration for its diverse community of faculty, staff, and participants. As a participant of an MIT Sloan Executive Education course, you are a member of the MIT Community and are expected to adhere to the following principles.

Respect:

  • MIT promotes the principle that every person brings unique qualities and talents to the community and that every individual should be treated in a respectful manner. All members of the MIT community are expected to conduct themselves with professionalism, personal integrity, and respect for the rights, differences, and dignity of others. These standards of personal conduct apply to all communications, whether oral, written, or in gestures.
  • Discrimination, harassment, or behavior that intimidates, threatens, demeans, or harms another person will not be tolerated

Participation:

  • Insights shared during class should serve to add value to the ongoing discussion. Quality is preferred over quantity. Please allow everyone an equal chance to speak and share their thoughts.
  • Be respectful of your fellow participants' contributions. Differences of opinion must be discussed civilly and courteously, and focus on the material in question. Be mindful of not just what you say but how you say it.

Attendance:

  • Participants are admitted with the understanding that they will be free from organizational duties during the course. Attendance in full, in the classroom or on video camera, is expected unless otherwise noted as optional or previously discussed with the program team. Any absence may impact your eligibility for a certificate of completion and/or credit towards a Certificate Program, when applicable. This protects the integrity of the certificates received by participants, and ensures that everyone gets the most out of the course

We look forward to welcoming you to our community.
