There are two ACE tracks to chose from:

Each track has its own course requirements.


You can also earn an ACE-MIT by completing the Advanced Management Program or the Executive Program in General Management.

Credits

For each track, a combination of all your completed courses must equal or exceed: 25.0 EEUs.


Each track has its own additional set of requirements for EEUs.

Format

You may attend courses in any of our formats; however, at least 10 EEUs must be In Person or Live Online.

Timeframe

Up to 4 Years

to complete the requirements, but you can earn an ACE in MIT in as little as 5 weeks.

Sometimes, business professionals enroll in a short course or earn an Executive Certificate and decide that they want more—more in-depth, hands-on learning experiences, more time with faculty and peers, additional time to experience the dynamic MIT ecosystem, and further recognition of their commitment to continuous education by earning MIT Sloan Affiliate Alumni status.


Unlike an MBA, you are able to design the ACE yourself through selecting the courses that best fit your needs and schedule within the program requirements; it doesn't consist of a prescribed set of courses unless you opt to enroll in one of courses that confer the ACE upon completion.


There are two tracks to choose from:



While you have up to four years to meet the requirements, you can earn your ACE-MIT in less time if you take advantage of back-to-back courses or enroll in the Advanced Management Program or Executive Program in General Management.

 

Throughout this process, you'll deepen your executive skillset, get up to speed on timely business topics, or tailor your certificate to address specific challenges you face. Many other executives have built their knowledge this way, and you can join them.

Which ACE is right for you?

Both Advanced Certificates share MIT Sloan’s hallmark flexibility, rigor, and recognition, however they serve distinct learning goals.


The Advanced Certificate for Executives in Management, Innovation, and Technology (ACE-MIT) is best for executives seeking broad, customizable exposure across leadership, strategy, innovation, and technology. This ACE:

  • Emphasizes breadth across three executive tracks
  • Is ideal for leaders who want to tailor learning to diverse business challenges
  • Is suited for general management development and cross-functional growth

The Advanced Certificate for Executives in AI and Digital Business (ACE–AIDB) is best for executives leading—or preparing to lead—AI-driven and digitally enabled transformation. The ACE-AIDB:

  • Emphasizes depth and focus in AI and digital business strategy
  • Requires designated AI courses and digital business programs
  • Is ideal for leaders accountable for AI adoption, digital scaling, and enterprise transformation

In short:

Choose the ACE-MIT if you want a broad, customizable executive education experience across management, strategy, and technology.


Choose the ACE–AIDB if your priority is building advanced leadership capability at the intersection of AI, digital business, and strategy.

Get Started Earning an ACE

Step 1

Enroll in the ACE track of your choice

You can enroll in a track at any time, free of charge. Simply click the "Enroll for Free" button on the executive certificate page and enter your details in the enrollment form. You will still need to select the courses in your plan, but you can do so at a later time.

Create a course plan

Once you have selected the ACE track you wish to pursue, create your course plan based on that track's individual requirements.


All courses must total at least 25 Executive Education Units (EEUs). Each track has its own additional EEU requirements.


Although self-paced online programs and Business Sprints can count toward the requirements, at least 10 EEUs must be attended in person or live online.


You can earn the ACE-MIT through multiple courses or by completing the Advanced Management Program or the Executive Program for General Managers.

Complete your courses

You have up to four years to complete the requirements, but you can earn an ACE in as little as five weeks.

Below are answers to some frequently asked questions.

Upon completion of the ACE requirements, participants will become MIT Sloan Affiliate Alumni. At MIT, full alumni status is reserved for those who complete a degree program.


MIT Sloan Affiliate Alumni status includes:

  • An MIT Sloan email-forwarding-for-life (EFL) address
  • Inclusion in the MIT Sloan Alumni Directory
  • Subscription to the MIT Sloan Alumni newsletter
  • Invitations to select MIT Sloan events
  • Opportunity to join local Alumni clubs (membership is up to individual club leadership discretion)

It depends. There is no one set price if you are completing the requirements with multiple courses. You select the courses that fit your schedule and educational plan. The total cost would be the price of the individual courses completed.


You don't have to enroll in and pay for all of the programs at one time, however there are significant savings when you take advantage of the Multiple Program Registration Discount.


If you opt to complete the ACE requirements with the Advanced Management Program or Executive Program in General Management, your cost would be the tuition of the course.


Multiple Program Registration Discount:

When you register at one time for two or three courses (using a single application form), you are eligible for a 10% discount on each course. Or register for four or more courses and receive 15% off each course.

We have implemented Executive Education Units (EEUs) as part of Executive Certificate and ACE requirements. Each course has been assigned a number of EEUs which count toward Certificate requirements and replace "Program Days" which did not accurately represent many online courses.

In order to receive a program certificate of completion, you must attend the entire program. In addition, if you cannot attend the full course, you will not receive any Executive Certificate or ACE credit for the program. If you find that you cannot attend the full program for which you are registered, we advise to you defer your enrollment to the next session.
