New course: The MIT Entrepreneurship Development Accelerator | MIT Sloan Executive Education

The leap from a brilliant business idea to a successful market launch is vast and challenging. For executives spearheading this journey—whether in startups or within corporate structures—MIT Sloan Executive Education offers an exciting new program: the Entrepreneurship Development Accelerator (EDA). The inaugural session will be held June 2-7, 2024, and promises an intensive, in-person course experience tailored to transform your business approach.

Under the expert guidance of serial entrepreneurs Bill Aulet and Paul Cheek, EDA is designed to bridge the gap between idea and execution. This program is not just about learning; it’s about doing. Over the course of a week, participants will engage in a rigorous process to refine their business plans, enhance their understanding of their target market, and develop actionable strategies for sales, product development, and scalable growth. Participants will have the unique opportunity to rapidly produce a refined business plan using a custom-developed AI tool that employs the 24-step Disciplined Entrepreneurship framework. Entrepreneurs will also share a highly interactive learning experience with the hottest startups coming out of MIT as they merge with the delta v summer accelerator teams—the best, brightest, and most committed entrepreneurial undergraduate and graduate students and PhD candidates at MIT—for lectures and networking events.

Participants will leave this program more confident in their entrepreneurial skillset and in the future success of their enterprise. They will also leave this week-long experience better able to:

  • Put a comprehensive and refined business roadmap into action
  • Assess how time is best allocated and ensure it is spent furthering the company vision
  • Scale a venture to be successful in the global marketplace
  • Navigate the venture capital investment process
  • Learn what it takes to transform from an SME small-to-midsize enterprise into an IDE (innovation-driven enterprise)
  • Tap into a global network of entrepreneurs

Intrapreneurs launching a new venture within (or spinning a new venture out of) a corporation or university system will also learn how to:

  • Move from incremental change to big change
  • Pitch to and onboard stakeholders
  • Appropriately leverage the resources within their existing organization/ecosystem

How EDA differs from our flagship Entrepreneurship Development Program

While sharing the core of MIT’s Entrepreneurship Development Program, EDA offers distinct advantages. It focuses specifically on advancing existing ventures, which differs from the more introductory nature of the EDP. There is a heightened emphasis on sales, product development, and scaling operations—essential elements for any growing business. And, participants will have opportunities for hands-on learning and direct feedback from seasoned entrepreneurs and MIT faculty.
