Course Snapshot

There is a wide chasm between a brilliant business plan and successfully taking that plan to market. Whether you are part of an entrepreneurial team launching a startup, or you are part of a corporate team building a new venture within your organization, you need a rigorous and actionable business plan that addresses the multifaceted challenges of market entry, sales, product development, competitive positioning, and scalable growth.

The Entrepreneurship Development Accelerator (EDA) is a chance for you to exponentially advance the progress of your venture. Led by serial entrepreneurs Bill Aulet and Paul Cheek, this new, intensive, week-long program bridges the gap between idea and execution, helping participants develop the skill sets required to put a plan into action and de-risk their business opportunity so that they can confidently move forward. You will leave this course with:

  • A more comprehensive and rigorous business plan that has a higher likelihood of success than your previous working plan
  • Enhanced target customer profile and persona development
  • Next steps for building a successful sales process
  • Goals and milestones for your next phase of work
  • Global perspectives on launching, growing, and scaling a business shared by other teams participating in the course
  • A strong sense of alignment and a common language among your team members with respect to your venture’s strengths, weaknesses, marketing, and growth plan
  • Participants joining as a team* will have the added benefit of creating a common language and properly aligning goals to accelerate their business plan

*Teams of three or more receive 15% off the tuition total. Teams of two receive 10% off the tuition total.

During the program, you will use a custom-developed generative AI tool that leverages the 24-step Disciplined Entrepreneurship framework to create a robust and refined business plan at record speed. You will also have the unique opportunity to share a highly interactive learning experience with the hottest startups coming out of MIT as you merge with the delta v summer accelerator teams—the best, brightest, and most committed entrepreneurial undergraduate and  graduate students and PhD candidates at MIT—for lectures and networking events. Examples of companies that graduated from delta v include Biobot Analytics, Iterative Health, Ori , Spyce (acquired by Sweetgreen), and Accion

Forget doing a company retreat! Come participate in a fast-paced, life-changing, rapid venture development process among global entrepreneurs, MIT faculty, and practitioners. Summer is an amazing time to visit Boston and Cambridge and spend time in Kendall Square—known as the world’s hub of innovation. You’ll leave this course with lifelong connections and a detailed business plan you can put immediately into action.

Course Experience

The six-day program runs Sunday through Friday and includes lectures by serial entrepreneurs and MIT faculty, team projects, coaching, AI-enabled business planning, and live case studies with successful entrepreneurs. During the week on campus, you will be exposed to the content, context, and contacts that enable entrepreneurs to design and launch successful new ventures based on innovative technologies. You’ll benefit from a free-flow of ideas from global participants starting ventures from scratch or launching new businesses within existing enterprises. Your team will benefit from dedicated coaching sessions with experienced MIT entrepreneurs, successful founders, and faculty members. You will also have the option to sign up for entrepreneurial community meetings to meet with leaders from MIT-founded companies and others in our innovation ecosystem to ask questions and learn more about their journey.

How this course is different from the Entrepreneurship Development Program

EDA shares several aspects of our flagship Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP), including content focused on the 24-step Disciplined Entrepreneurship process created by Bill Aulet. However, this new course is unique from EDP in several ways, including:

  • Participants in EDA will work on advancing their existing ventures, which is not permitted in EDP. You will leave this program with a comprehensive and rigorous business plan, aided by AI, that has a higher likelihood of success than your current working plan.
  • Many participants will attend in teams of two or more, enabling alignment among colleagues from the same organization, startup, corporate venture, or university
  • There is a greater focus on skill sets relevant to sales processes, product development, and scaling.
  • Participants will also have the opportunity to meet, network, and learn alongside start-up teams from MIT’s premier venture accelerator program, delta v, and receive VIP access passes to come back to watch the teams pitch on demo day.

If you have already taken EDP and are considering EDA, there is a significant overlap in content. However, several past participants of EDP have chosen to take it a second time, proving that there is value in experiencing this content more than once.
