Bio
Kevin M. Larson held the role Vice President and Chief Information Officer for AAR CORP., a leading provider of products and services to the commercial aerospace and defense industries. As CIO, Kevin provides leadership for AAR’s Information Technology and e-Business operations.
Since joining the company in 1989, Kevin has held various IT leadership positions. Under his direction, IT capabilities have become a competitive differentiator for the company as his team provides technology and business inputs that are integral across AAR’s operations. Kevin’s customer-focused approach led to an application service provider model that includes application hosting, network infrastructure, and a suite of integrated technology offerings. Kevin has a successful track record of providing a strategic vision, technical definition, and business development support to promote AAR’s products, services, and enhanced systems capabilities.
AAR was incorporated in 1955 and today has revenues over $2 billion with 6,000 employees and operations in 90 locations. The Company’s products and services include supply chain services, aircraft MRO, design and manufacturing services, and airlift support for government customers.
Kevin has more than 30 years of information technology experience, which includes serving as Assistant Vice President & Information Technology Audit Manager for BMO Harris Bank (BMO.) Since 1981, his roles in technology have included operations, systems programming, database administrator, IS Audit Manager, IS Director, and IS Vice President.
In 2004, Kevin served as a Board Member for the MIT Forum for Supply Chain Innovation. Also, for the past five years he has served on the Leadership Council for DePaul University’s Computing and Digital Media School. In 2012, Kevin was ranked among 150 CIOs from a field of 38,000 selected by ExecRank, which looks at 24 key criteria in selecting its “Most Distinguished CIO” honorees.
Kevin received a BS and an LA&S in Computer Science from DePaul University in 1987, and an MBA in Information Systems from Dominican University in 1992. In 2007, he earned MIT Sloan Executive Certificates in Management and Leadership and Strategy and Innovation. In 2010, he received the Executive Certificate in Technology, Operations, and Value Chain Management—culminating in an Advanced Certificate for Executives in Management, innovation, and Technology (ACE), in 2013.
