Performance evaluation of an incumbent fixed and mobile operator with a annual revenue of 210 M USD including: investment plans; three years business plan, current sales and marketing activities, market share dynamics, usage of frequencies, IT and network strategy adequacy, regulatory frame, etc.
2017 - 2018
Shadow CEO, Telecommunications Company of Iran
National Incumbent operator with 30M fixed and 55M mobile subscribers, over 4.1 B USD revenue per year and 69,000 personnel. Reported to the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors, in charge of all transformation related plans activities and results.
- Business markets Sales, Marketing and Customer Care turnaround to achieve the planned uptake of the revenue was 92 M UDS in addition to the wholesale uptake of 65 M USD.
- Turnaround/launch of 300 own shops and strong third party distribution network to drastically increase the capillarity of the distribution and secure execution of the revenue uptake of 75M USD
- Agree with the Regulator the Tariff rebalancing to increase the revenue by circa 300 M USD per year.
- Execute the merge of the 30 regional companies into one centrally managed. The result shall decrease the staff by 25% and shall impact positively the EBITDA of the Company by up to 7%.
2015 - 2017 CEO MAX Telecom, Bulgaria
Green field 4G LTE operator, built to replace the existing WiMAX technology in a 140% penetrated mobile market. 80 M USD investment with a 35 % profit exit strategy, 200 employees, reported directly to the shareholder.
- Shut down the WiMAX network and built the country’s first 4G LTE operator. Migrated the WiMAX customers to LTE with only 6% loss mainly due to coverage issues
- Negotiated and signed a national roaming agreement with the leading mobile operator in the country, thus saving 500M Euro needed for national network coverage and reducing time-to-market from 42 months down to 6 months
- Achieved an ARPU of 14 USD, which is almost double compared to the rivals’ ARPU of 7.5 USD and at the same time increase the customer base 6 times.
- Prepared the investment exit strategy for the shareholders

- Shadowed the Telecom Group CEO for the implementation of a centrally managed, vertical and function based organizational structure to reduce costs by 120M USD
- Acted as interim Group Chief Commercial Officer, was instrumental in exceeding project target to 112 %

National incumbent fixed and mobile operator. 250 M USD revenue per year, 3,600 employees, Member of the Management Board of Beeline CIS, VimpelCom, Russia.
- Changed the digitalization plans and technology to save 32 M USD and achieve 85 % digitalization of the Country’s fixed line network in nine months.
- Stopped the market/revenue loss trends and achieved 52 % EBITDA
- Reduced the number of employees from 6,200 down to 3,600
- Was instrumental in the negotiations with the Trade Unions and the Government during the two strikes organized by the Union of the Telecommunications workers.
- Negotiated the Tariff Rebalancing with the Regulator to secure revenue uptake of 6%
2004 - 2008 Group Business Markets Chief Commercial Officer with vivacom, Bulgaria,
- Newly privatized 1.2 billion USD fixed and green field mobile operator. In charge of the establishment of the Business Sales and Marketing Division, in charge of circa 480 M USD per annum
1997 - 2004 Sales Director Business Markets, MobilTel, currently A1 Bulgaria, part of America Movil Started as a consultancy project that naturally evolved into a direct employment contract. Established the Business markets division. Was instrumental for the steep growth of the customer base from 150 000 to 1 million in 2 years by successfully implementing B2B2C programs.
