Josh is a Digital and AI entrepreneur, researcher, lecturer, and investor. He’s a co-founder of First Principles Transformation (FPT) – a boutique specializing in Digital and AI design, engineering, and venture building. Additionally, he’s a lecturer and PhD researcher at MIT, as well as a Fellow at Dartmouth College.

His experience consists of product and platform development, new venture creation, investment, and operational leadership. Previously, he served as Head of Venture Investments and Digital Business Creation for a fortune 200 organization. Prior to that, he led the development and execution of digital- and AI-enabled transformation strategies, new product and business creation ventures, and architected venture investment vehicles for multiple fortune 500 organizations. Josh started his career at J.P. Morgan, working as an investor within the firm’s technology-focused private equity fund.

At MIT, Josh has taught multiple courses: Building an Entrepreneurial Venture, Entrepreneurship for Human-Machine Intelligence, Digital Product Development, and Corporate Entrepreneurship. He’s held research appointments with MIT’s Interactive Robotics Lab, Human-Centered AI Lab, and the Initiative on the Digital Economy. He is PhD candidate within MIT’s School of Engineering. He completed his M.S. in Integrated Product Design, Engineering, and Management from MIT, and his B.A. in Economics from the University of Notre Dame.
