Bio

Derek is on a mission to become a Change Agent. His interests and experiences range from healthcare, to transportation, to early childhood education. Since 1995, he has worked for Medical Transportation Management in a variety of roles and is now focused on nurturing and expanding their culture of Corporate Social Responsibility, internally; and simultaneously building a product for CSR benchmarking within any business. Meanwhile, since 2009, Derek has also been a franchisee for Sportball - "sports instruction and physical literacy for kids" - and has expanded into three territories within Arizona and California. More recently, his book "2020 Theory" is due to release in mid-2018. His book proposes actionable items within a three-phase framework designed to incorporate "Social Capital" platforms into businesses, governments and communities beginning year 2020. Derek chose MIT due to their reputation for developing top future leaders, technologies and innovations that have a purpose greater than just financial growth. Derek has a B.S. in Strategic Communications and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Kansas. He's a member of Net Impact and now a proud member of the MIT Strategy and Innovation Certificate community.
