Bio

April Wilcox is the Director of Investment Services for California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS), the largest educator-only pension fund in the world, valued at $320 billion. Ms. Wilcox oversees the business and servicing side of the Investment Branch including the Investment Operations, Performance, Compliance, Data Solutions, and Administration units. She is also responsible for oversight of policy compliance, business risk management, and providing strategic leadership and collaboration across the Investment Branch to ensure successful implementation of the investment objectives. Ms. Wilcox joined CalSTRS in 2004 and has over 20 years of financial experience across the front, middle, and back offices. Her roles at CalSTRS included Director of Investment Operations, Fixed Income Investments and Investment Accounting. Ms. Wilcox obtained a B.S. in Finance and holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation. She was also awarded as one of the CIO’s 2022 Class of NextGens.
