Anne Stuart is a veteran Boston-based writer, editor, communications professional, and instructor. As senior editor for MIT SMR Connections, the custom-content wing of MIT Sloan Management Review, she collaborates with high-tech companies and consulting firms to develop thought-leadership articles, reports, interviews, and webinars. Clients include Amazon, Cisco, Deloitte, EY (Ernst & Young), and Google, among others.
Previously, she was the communications officer for MIT’s Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (the Institute’s largest academic unit). She was also the inaugural senior editor for custom content at MIT Technology Review, where her clients included Analog Devices, FireEye, HP, IBM, and Oracle, among others.
Before joining MIT’s staff, Anne was a senior editorial staffer at Inc., CIO, and Harvard magazines, 1105 Media, and TechTarget, among other print and online publishing companies. She also served as associate editorial director for custom content at CXO Media, primarily creating content for Microsoft business customers. Earlier in her career, she was a reporter for several daily newspapers and The Associated Press. She has contributed freelance work to a variety of other publications, and her work has won many professional awards.
As an adjunct professor, Anne currently teaches undergraduate and graduate communications classes at Simmons University and Regis College. Previously, she taught at Lasell University, Southern New Hampshire University, Northeastern University, and Emerson College. She received a double bachelor’s degree in journalism and English, with honors, from Michigan State University and a master’s degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
