Bio

Dr. Florin Paun has been the New Business Deputy Director at ONERA - France National Aerospace Research Centre since January 2005. In this role, he is in charge of technology transfer and international business development. He defines programs and new partnership policies, focusing on complementary knowledge, cross-supporting offers, and mutual intellectual property valuation.

Previously, as a Senior Science and Technology Expert, Florin coordinated the multifunctional materials program at ONERA and taught courses for a master's degree in aerospace. He earned a PhD from ENSICA, Toulouse, in 1998 and a master's degree in aerospace engineering from the Aeronautic Faculty in Bucharest in 1993.

Florin also has extensive business development experience outside of the aerospace domain. He specializes in emerging East European markets and has created his own engineering and development company. He is also an associated founder of a dynamic start-up in France and is a founding member of the think tank “Club de Bucarest,” the first Parisian think tank of independent professionals from Eastern Europe. He has been quoted in multiple international newspapers including Aerospace Testing Magazine, Les Echos, l'Usine Nouvelle, and Air & Cosmos.
