Daniel (Dan) Frosh is a senior advisor at Cambridge Advisors to Family Enterprise, a highly specialized international advisory firm serving family enterprises. Cambridge Advisors and Cambridge Institute for Family Enterprise, an education and research institute, are divisions of Cambridge Family Enterprise Group, a global organization founded in 1989. It is devoted to helping families and ownership groups navigate the new economy and achieve multigenerational success for their families, enterprises, and financial wealth.
Mr. Frosh advises family-owned enterprises on the strategies for the successful continuity of their enterprises. He is an attorney and active member of the State Bar of California. His areas of focus include effective governance practices, conflict resolution and building strong family relationships, holistic estate planning, succession planning, and the ownership dimension of family companies. Mr. Frosh offers families guidance in establishing and implementing family and ownership governance at all stages of their life cycle. As an attorney, he provides advice to families on inheritance planning, shareholder agreements, ownership transfers, and preparing the next generation to inherit assets.
Mr. Frosh speaks and teaches on family business topics at conferences and academic institutions. He is a facilitator in the Future Family Enterprise program at the MIT Sloan School of Management, an innovative program for multigenerational families to prepare themselves for the future. Mr. Frosh has also co-taught an undergraduate course on Family Business Management at San Diego State University. He is a lifetime member of the Family Firm Institute (FFI), the preeminent association for family enterprise professionals, and presented on “Transitioning Voting Shares to the Next Generation” at its 2018 global conference in London.
In 2017, Mr. Frosh was awarded Certificates in Family Business Advising and in Family Wealth Advising by the Family Firm Institute. He is a current member of the FFI board of directors and serves as the Managing Editor of FFI Practitioner, a weekly publication that provides thought-provoking analysis, trends, and research that support advisors to family enterprises.
Prior to joining Cambridge Advisors, Mr. Frosh ran a private family enterprise consulting practice in Southern California. Earlier in his career, he served as Program Director at the Family Firm Institute and was Business Manager for the Harvard Lampoon, the iconic publication of Harvard College.
Mr. Frosh earned his J.D. from Suffolk Law School and his B.A. in Political Science from the College of Wooster. He graduated cum laude from Suffolk Law school with a focus on estate planning and closely- held enterprises, and received the prestigious Rehnquist Award for Excellence in Professional Responsibility.
