  • Roman S: The two days of this course are both entertaining and applicable to basically any business that can be measured. I see several opportunities to test after this course. The speakers were true experts and highlighted different perspectives on Sports and Analytics. I would have loved and recommended to proceed another day and apply the knowledge on real or mock data bases together with the experts and data analysts.

  • Marleine Z: Ben did a very good job in laying out the outline of good analytics and helped us try to shape ones for our companies. Tauhid Zaman, an invited MIT lecturer shows you how to make money out of finding mean and standard deviation of well picked up correlating setups. A really superb combination of lectures and I would definitely recommend it even if one is not highly keen about sports, like myself.

Lessons in Analytics Strategy: Takeaways from the Sports Data Revolution

Although decision making in sports is different from that of other industries, the similarities can reveal how analytics, if effectively deployed, can lead to better decisions and more successful organizations.

Unlocking the Potential of Analytics: A Q&A with Ben Shields

Ben Shields discusses the lessons the management community outside of sports can take from this sports data revolution. "This process of goal setting, strategy development, information gathering and synthesis, decision-making, implementation, measurement, and iteration is replayed consistently in the most advanced data-driven organizations. And for our work in Analytics Management, it will serve as a transferrable framework for organizations in other industries as well."
