For the past fifteen years, Edward has worked in the areas of technology and innovation management, developing methodologies to improve innovation capability and performance in small companies. This has resulted in the development of an applied innovation model designed to help small companies develop the capabilities to innovate effectively and efficiently.
For the past three years, Edward has headed up the Applied Innovation department of the Irish state agency, Enterprise Ireland, and has used the Applied Innovation methodology as the basis for significant improvement in innovation performance in over 40 companies.
“The development of the applied innovation model for small companies was greatly assisted by the learning obtained at the MIT courses leading to the Certificate in Strategy and Innovation. Apart from the course material itself, the thinking was hugely advanced through direct conversation with the course presenters. One essential piece of learning related to central importance of keeping business strategy at the centre of innovation performance improvement in companies.”
