MIT Sloan Executive Education
Certificate Holder Profile
Director of Engineering
Anthony Sweeney is responsible for the team and associated cost center that develops the custom telecommunication products that represent approximately 80% of Endwave's $65 million annual revenue. He manages hardware and software design teams in four locations worldwide, in three different time zones.
Anthony co-founded a start-up company known as Advanced Frequency Products where he was responsible for personally designing custom products, as well as the front end technical sales effort. After the company was acquired, he was promoted to director of engineering. Shortly thereafter, the company was acquired again by Endwave Corporation. In each of the subsequent acquisitions, he worked to support several different areas, including leading the team to choose the current offshore manufacturing partner, leading nearly all commercial bid and proposal efforts, as well as leading several cross functional initiatives, including Endwave's first Kaizen event — applying lean manufacturing principles to office practices.
“I have learned much in the MIT Sloan executive education programs, from both the excellent professors, the literature provided in case studies and books, as well as from fellow participants. Most importantly, the MIT staff has inspired me to think about my business in different ways and apply successful concepts from other industries to Endwave's. Specifically, I found that two different executive offsite strategy sessions were greatly enhanced due to the completion of MIT coursework just weeks before. I was able to apply the concepts learned at MIT on my first day returning back to the office.”
