Dr. Arthur Pantelides has over 17 years experience in the heavy industrial, automotive, and consumer-related gear and gearbox markets, working in both European and Asian-owned international manufacturing operations. He has held various engineering and management positions in mechanical design, quality assurance, R&D, product and application engineering, as well as subsidiary operations management. He is currently the director of engineering and R&D at Sumitomo Drive Technologies, a subsidiary of Sumitomo Heavy Industries of Japan; one of the oldest and biggest companies in Japan and the world.
Arthur holds a B.S. in aerospace engineering and a M.S. in mechanical engineering, both from Boston University. He holds a Masters of Engineering Management (MEM) as well as a PhD in engineering management both from The George Washington University in Washington, DC. His field of interest is in the design and engineering of knowledge management structures and processes in international operations, specifically how knowledge is transferred between parent and subsidiary.
He has contributed to several international academic and commercial publications and jointly holds several industrial patents with other colleagues. Arthur also teaches masters-level engineering management courses part-time at the George Washington University Hampton Roads Graduate Center.
