Nivaldo Tadeu Marcusso
CIO
Bradesco Foundation
Brazil
Executive Certificate(s):
Nivaldo Marcusso leads the ICT (operation and R&D), strategy office (strategic planning), and distance education arms of the Bradesco Foundation, a Brazilian nonprofit school system that offers K-12 education for more than 100,000 students all over Brazil.
The Bradesco Foundation believes the value of ICT technology is to create the best conditions to reach as many underserved people as possible with the existing budget and infrastructure.
They want to be seen as a very good reference model for Brazilian public schools. Nivaldo chose MIT Sloan Executive Education programs to help him identify and formulate a strategic framework to connect and align the ICT and innovation values to corporate strategy, based on two strategic themes: short-term operational excellence and long term-leadership innovation services.
“I believe that the CIO's role is to coordinate innovation movement inside the company, aligning people, processes, and technology to the strategic objectives and goals established by stakeholders. As a CIO, I look everywhere for partnerships with ICT's providers to develop and integrate the best worldwide solutions based on open social innovation. MIT Sloan Executive Education professors and classmates provided me with the opportunity to share ideas, concepts, and experiences focused on this strategic vision alignment.”
