Mohammad leads the effort at KACST for facilitating the acquisition and adaptation of existing technologies that show promise of successful commercialization in Saudi markets. He assists in the creation of technology parks and incubators and helps to develop networks among major parties involved in the development of technology (R&D centers, universities, technology importers, investors, and others.) In addition, he is involved in technology development projects in industry, technology transfer operations throughout the innovation process, and setting standards and specifications and negotiating methods for technology transfer.
Mohammad's research activities include text processing (including computational linguistics, statistical language modeling, information retrieval and text mining, language resources), Arabic document processing, and optical character recognition.
