Tumu has over 18 years experience in technology, management, and business consulting in the information communications and technology sectors. He has advised clients on business technology planning, business strategies, market strategies, competitive positioning, business investment, information communications technology transformations, infrastructure transformation strategies, risk assessment, and transition management.
In his current role at Powerline Technologies Ltd (PTL), he is responsible for strategy and business development in emerging economies, looking at wider aspects of technology and social inclusion, and building strategic partnerships in these markets. Tumu is also responsible for business strategies and business models formulation, business investments, funding and investor relations, business planning, market strategies and competitive positioning, channel and economic value chain strategies, thought leadership, and portfolio branding.
Tumu strongly believes that broadband powerline communications technology can help emerging economies in their economic development and social capital enhancement. He also believes that broadband powerline communications technology is one of the solutions that can address the problem of technology and social inclusion in emerging economies and other under served areas, for example, rural communities in developed economies.
Tumu has worked in a number of countries and enjoys working in an environment that promotes creativity, entrepreneurship, innovation, and diversity. He has worked for companies such as Lucent Technologies, Newbridge Networks Corporation, Cable & Wireless, GEC Marconi, SITA, and The UK Post Office.
In his career and consulting engagements, Tumu has worked with a number of clients including British Telecom, Vodafone, Cable & Wireless, Equant (Orange Business), MCI (VerizonBusiness), Swisscom, Deutsche Telekom, Peninsula and Oriental (P&O), Citigroup, Thomson Financial, Compass, Societe Generale, and Crown Castle International.
